Step by step: how to draw Karthika Masam Deepam Rangoli

1. Mark the 5-to-5 dot grid — five rows of five dots in a square.
2. In the centre draw a small flower with rounded petals and frame it with a square set on the central dots.
3. Around the square draw a pinwheel of long curved double-line leaves that sweep in one direction and end in pointed tips.
4. Between the leaf tips, on each of the four corners, draw a lamp — a curved bowl with a pointed spout.
5. On the mouth of each lamp bowl draw a teardrop flame pointing out to the corner and outline it with a row of dots.
6. Scatter a few dots inside each lamp bowl to finish.
