Step by step: how to draw Chhoti Rangoli Design

1. Mark the 7 to 1 dot grid — rows from 1 up to 7 and back to 1 forming a diamond.
2. In the centre draw four pointed petals crossing like a star — two long leaves laid across each other — and shade them with short strokes.
3. On each of the four sides draw a four-petal flower with heart-shaped petals, a dot in the middle and three short dashes in every petal.
4. In each of the four corners draw a sprig — a curved stem ending in a spiral curl, a small fan of short lines and a leaf.
5. Link the corner sprigs with a curved line running around the outside of the four flowers to frame the design.
