Step by step: how to draw Sankranthi Bhogi Muggulu

1. Mark the 5-to-3 dot grid — rows tapering from 5 down to 3.
2. In the centre draw a round pongal pot — a bulging body, a short neck and a wide flat rim.
3. Above the rim draw a puffy cloud of boiling-over rice with a curly scalloped edge.
4. On each side of the pot's base draw a tuft of pointed flames rising up the pot.
5. Below the pot draw a fan of slanted firewood sticks spreading downward.
6. On the left and right draw a sugarcane stalk with jointed segments and a tuft of long leaves at the top.
7. Colour the pot pink with a white zigzag band and rows of dots, the rice white, the flames yellow, the sticks red, the stalks purple and the cane leaves green.
