Step by step: how to draw Beautiful Butterfly Colour Rangoli

1. Mark the 15 to 8 dot grid — rows widening from 8 dots at the top to 15 across the middle and back to 8 at the bottom.
2. In the centre draw a six-petal flower with a dot in its middle.
3. Around the flower draw a scalloped frame — a square turned on its point with wavy, bead-like edges.
4. Outside it draw a second, larger scalloped frame with six points — one to the left, one to the right and one toward each diagonal corner.
5. Around the outside draw six butterflies — one at the top, one at the bottom and one at each diagonal corner, each sitting in a gap between the points of the outer frame.
6. Give each butterfly a slim segmented body, two scalloped wings of round lobes with a dot in each lobe, and two spiral antennae curling toward the centre.
7. Fill the flower green with a red centre, the inner frame dark red, the outer frame orange, and the butterflies red, blue and purple with green bodies.
