Step by step: how to draw Easy Pongal Colour Rangoli

1. Mark the dot grid, then in the centre draw a six-petal flower inside a six-pointed star.
2. Draw a larger six-pointed star around the first to give the star a double outline.
3. In each of the six notches between the star points draw a round flower of rounded petals with a small circle at its centre, and scatter small dots around them.
4. From each round flower draw a short stem with two small leaves leading outward to a pointed-petal flower — six outer flowers in all.
5. Between the outer flowers draw six pairs of parrots — round bodies, hooked beaks, an eye and a forked tail pointing outward — with a small leaf between the two birds of each pair.
6. Colour the outer star purple, the inner star yellow and the centre flower blue.
7. Colour the parrots green with red heads and dark green tails, and fill the flowers in red, blue, orange and pink.
