Step by step: how to draw 5 to 3 Pulli Kolam With Dots

1. Mark the 5-to-3 dot grid — rows narrowing from 5 dots to 3.
2. In the centre draw a round rose bud — a circle with a curved line across its top to form the open cup.
3. Around the top and sides of the bud draw five lobed outer petals — three across the top and one on each side.
4. Below the bud draw two broad leaves, one on each side, meeting at a point under the bud.
5. Fill the bud and outer petals pink.
6. Inside the bud draw a spiral at the top and an S-curve running from the rim down to the base for the folded petal.
7. Fill the leaves green.
8. Draw fanning white vein lines in each leaf, then a curved stem down from the base of the leaves with a small spiral curl beside its foot.
