Step by step: how to draw Sankranti Colours Muggu

1. Mark a hexagonal dot grid — rows growing by one towards the widest middle row, then shrinking back to the bottom.
2. In the centre draw a small dot and three pointed petals around it — one pointing straight up and two pointing down to the left and right.
3. Around the centre draw a ring of six flowers, each with six pointed petals, so that neighbouring flowers touch at their petal tips.
4. Round the ring of flowers draw an outer line of wide arcs that meet in points at the top, bottom, left and right.
5. On the outer line at the upper-left, upper-right, left, right, lower-left and lower-right draw six tulips with three pointed petals, each on a short stem that starts at a ringed bud beside the flowers.
6. Between neighbouring tulips draw two pointed leaves on short stalks from the outer line, each with a centre vein — twelve leaves in all.
7. Fill with colours — purple, pink and magenta flowers, blue tulips, red buds, green leaves and a blue centre on a yellow dot — and outline everything in white.
