Step by step: how to draw Easy Rangoli for New Year

1. Mark the 5 to 5 dot grid — five rows of five dots.
2. Draw a square around the centre dot and fill it with a lattice of crossing lines.
3. From each corner of the square sweep out a curved pointed petal so the four petals turn like a pinwheel, and draw a spiral curl inside each petal.
4. On each of the four diagonals draw a lily — pointed petals opening toward the corner with a spray of stamens tipped with dots.
5. Between the lilies run curling stems from the pinwheel petals along the top, bottom and sides, ending each in a spiral.
6. Go over all the outlines in white.
