Step by step: how to draw 5×1 Side Simple Rangoli Designs
- Mark the 5-to-1 dot grid.
- In the centre draw four long pointed petals in a cross — up, down, left and right — meeting at the middle, with an S-curl inside each.
- In each gap between the long petals draw a rounded petal with a single stamen line tipped with a dot.
- Cap the tip of each long petal with a small pointed bud holding a fan of lines tipped with dots.
- Flank each bud with a pair of spiral curls.
- On the four diagonals draw a small flower of three pointed leaves around a dot, with curling tendrils tipped with dots.
- Shade the diagonal leaves lightly with powder.
