Step by step: how to draw Basic Diya Rangoli Designs With 5 to 1 Dots
- Mark the 5-to-1 dot grid.
- Draw two large diya bowls side by side with their rims meeting in the centre, and place a small three-petal bud where they join.
- Above the join draw a smaller diya with a teardrop flame, and add a teardrop flame on the outer tip of each large diya; edge every flame with dots.
- Inside each large bowl add a spiral curl beside the bud and run a line of dots under each rim.
- Below the bowls draw a curved band filled with a row of dots, and sweep it out on each side into a large scroll ending in a spiral.
- Under the centre draw a large veined leaf pointing down, flanked on each side by pointed petals and spiral curls to form a lotus base.
- Finish with a small looped stem below the leaf tip.
