Step by step: how to draw Durga Puja Rangoli Ideas

1. Mark the 7-to-1 dot grid — rows narrowing from 7 dots in the middle to a single dot at each end.
2. Around the grid draw four diyas — one above, one below and one on each side — each with its flame pointing in towards the centre.
3. Draw a square around the centre so each diya flame touches the middle of one side.
4. Inside the square draw a diamond with its points on the four sides and fill it with a criss-cross lattice of lines.
5. From each corner of the square curl a line outwards into a cluster of spiral curls, one cluster on each of the four diagonals.
6. Fill each diya bowl with a lotus of layered petals and run a short line ending in a dot from it out past the rim.
