Step by step: how to draw 7 Into 4 Unique New Kolam Dots

1. Mark the 7-to-4 dot grid.
2. In the centre draw a six-lobed flower outline — two squared lobes at the top, a pointed lobe on each side and two squared lobes at the bottom.
3. Around it draw a ring of six three-petal fans — two loops with a teardrop between — at the top, bottom and on the four diagonals, each with its teardrop pointing in towards the centre.
4. Add a spiral at the base of each fan and sweep curling strokes out from it on both sides.
5. Weave curved lines through the central outline so it becomes an interlaced six-pointed star, and set a small circle ringed with dots in the middle.
6. Join the six fans with a ring of arcs, setting a spiral in each gap between neighbouring fans.
7. Finish the outer edge with short dashes and small clusters of dots between the fans.
