Step by step: how to draw How to Draw 12×2 Deepam Rangoli Designs

1. Mark the 12-to-2 dot grid — rows tapering from 12 in the middle down to 2 at each end.
2. In the centre draw a four-petal flower with a spiral at its heart and short strokes on each petal.
3. Along each of the four arms — top, bottom, left and right — run a pair of curved stems in towards the flower, each ending in a spiral tendril.
4. At the end of each arm draw a two-lobed heart bud capped by a wide boat-shaped cup with pointed tips.
5. On the outer edge of each cup draw a small semicircle ringed with short rays.
6. On each of the four diagonals draw a round bowl enclosing a pointed teardrop, fringed with short strokes on the side facing the centre.
7. Beside each bowl add a slanted parallelogram band filled with parallel hatching.
