Step by step: how to draw 12 Dots Unique Rangoli Design

1. Mark the 12-to-2 dot grid — rows narrowing from 12 in the middle down to 2 at the top and bottom.
2. On each of the four sides — top, bottom, left and right — draw a hash of two pairs of crossed lines.
3. Turn each hash into a large flower of four heart-shaped petals with a small four-petal flower inside.
4. In the centre draw a matching flower of four heart-shaped petals with a small four-petal flower at its heart.
5. On each of the four diagonals between the outer flowers draw a diya with its flame pointing outward, decorated with dots.
6. From the base of each diya curve a stem toward the centre flower, ending in a spiral curl beside it.
7. Re-trace all the outlines in white.
