Step by step: how to draw 12 Dots Happy New Year Kolam
- Mark the 12 to 2 dot grid — rows widening from 2 dots at the top to 12 across the middle and tapering back to 2 at the bottom.
- Across the middle write HAPPY, NEW YEAR and 2025 in three lines of block capitals, the longest line on the widest row.
- Above the lettering draw a spiral curl in the centre with a pointed leaf curving out on each side, each leaf holding a smaller leaf inside it.
- At the outer end of each top leaf draw a round flower — a spiral in the middle ringed by round petals.
- Repeat the curl, the two leaves and the two flowers below the lettering as a mirror image.
- Beside the lettering add four small star flowers — one on each side of the top line and one on each side of the bottom line.
- Fill the top flowers red and the bottom flowers pink, the leaves green with blue inner leaves, and keep the letters white.
