Step by step: how to draw Sankranthi Kundala Muggulu

1. Mark the 7-to-7 dot grid — seven rows of seven dots in a square.
2. From the centre run four sugarcane stalks — up, down, left and right — each a segmented bar of three boxes with a dot in every box.
3. Crown the outer end of each stalk with a fan of pointed sugarcane leaves.
4. In each of the four quadrants between the stalks draw an oval pot lying on its side, its mouth pointing to the corner.
5. Draw a flower with rounded petals on the body of the upper-left, upper-right and lower-right pots.
6. Add a scalloped rim at the mouth of the upper-left, upper-right and lower-right pots, and heap overflowing pongal beyond the upper-left and lower-right rims as a billowing cloud shape.
