Step by step: how to draw Traditional Flower Kolam With 14×2
- Mark the 14-to-2 dot grid — rows tapering from 14 down to 2.
- In the centre draw a four-petal flower with heart-shaped petals and set a pointed leaf on each diagonal so the motif fills a square.
- Around the centre draw eight small birds in facing pairs — two on each side — each with a round head, an eye dot and a short beak.
- Outside each pair of birds, at the top, bottom, left and right edges, draw a flower of heart-shaped petals.
- Sweep each bird's body out into a broad wing toward the nearest corner and shade the wing with feather strokes.
- On each of the four diagonals draw a cup-shaped bloom with a fan of dot-tipped stamens between the wings of neighbouring birds.
- Close the outline into a rounded diamond and re-trace all lines in thick white.
