Step by step: how to draw Pongal Rangoli Designs
- Mark the 14-to-2 dot grid.
- In the centre draw a four-petal flower with notched petals, a small circle at its heart and two short strokes in each petal.
- On each of the four diagonals draw a round pot with its mouth facing outward.
- Cross each pot body with a wide band and fill the band with three spiral curls.
- Give each pot a scalloped neck and a wide rim edged with a zigzag fringe.
- Heap three rounded mounds of overflowing pongal on each rim and fill them in white.
- On the top, bottom, left and right draw four more notched four-petal flowers to match the centre one.
