Step by step: how to draw Unique Pulli Kolam Step by Step

1. Mark the 9-to-1 dot grid — rows tapering from 9 down to 1 on each side for a diamond field.
2. In the centre draw a five-petal flower with a dot in the middle and box it in a square.
3. Around the square draw a diamond through the dots and at each of its four corners — top, bottom, left and right — place a spiral capped by a pair of curled petals.
4. Outside the diamond draw a larger frame of straight lines through the dots and fill the band between the two with a zigzag of crossing lines.
5. On each of the four diagonal corners draw a lotus — three pointed petals with a dot in the middle petal — with a curled leaf on each side.
6. At the top, bottom, left and right points add a small teardrop loop.
7. Re-trace the outlines in white.
