Step by step: how to draw New Year Chukkala Muggulu 2023

1. Mark the 8-to-2 dot grid.
2. Along the lower half draw a large semicircular bowl and write "2023" inside it in plain single-line numerals.
3. Rim the bowl with a fan of rounded petals, each holding an oval, to make a half sunflower.
4. Above the bowl write "NEW YEAR" with a spiral curl at each end.
5. Over the words draw a scroll banner with rolled spiral ends, write "HAPPY" inside it and add a small flower on either side of the word.
6. On top of the banner draw a bird with a curved neck, pointed beak facing left and a dot eye, curved feather lines on the breast, a heart-shaped wing with short strokes and a spiral at its base.
7. Beside the bird on the left add a small flower cluster of round petals.
