Step by step: how to draw Attractive Simple Kolam Design

1. Mark the 10-to-10 dot grid — ten rows of ten dots in a square.
2. In the centre draw four squared loops, one in each quadrant, each with one curved edge and a small square box in its outer corner, leaving an open cross-shaped channel between them.
3. Around the centre draw long diagonal lines across the four corners of the grid so the inner field becomes an octagon.
4. At the middle of each of the four sides draw a trapezoid bowl edged on the outside with three rounded scallops.
5. Between each scalloped bowl and the corners draw stepped zigzag lines in a lightning-bolt pattern.
6. On each of the four corners draw a small square box joined to the zigzag lines.
