Step by step: how to draw Rangoli Designs With 7 to 3 Dots

1. Mark the dot grid with seven dots across the middle row.
2. Place a dot in the centre and draw four S-shaped stems sweeping out from it like a pinwheel, each with a small spiral curl near the centre.
3. Carry each stem out into a large rounded loop so the outline closes into four lobes around the centre.
4. In each of the four lobes draw a lotus — a pointed centre petal flanked by layered side petals — with its base towards the outer corner.
5. At the base of each lotus draw a fan of fine stamen lines with a spiral curl on either side.
6. Line the inside of each lobe with a row of white dots following its curve.
7. Fill the lotuses with pink, the stems with green and the centre dot with blue.
