Step by step: how to draw Lotus Flowers Rangoli Designs for Sankranti

1. In the centre draw a hexagon and raise a triangle on each of its six sides to make a six-pointed star; fill the hexagon blue with an orange dot in the middle and colour the star points orange.
2. Around the star draw six lotus flowers, one beyond each star point.
3. Shape each lotus with a pointed centre petal between two curved crescent petals that sweep round to meet the next lotus, and colour the petals magenta and pink.
4. Behind each lotus draw three pointed leaves fanning outward and colour them green.
5. In each gap between the leaf clusters draw a white spiral curl.
6. Finish with a blue dot just outside each spiral around the outer edge.
