Step by step: how to draw Simple Rangoli Designs by Aishwarya
- Mark the 21-to-1 dot grid — a diamond of rows tapering from 21 in the middle row down to a single dot at the top and bottom.
- In the centre draw a small diamond with a dot inside and give it four hooked arms, one from each side, so it turns like a pinwheel.
- Draw the same dotted diamond with pinwheel arms at the top, bottom, left and right corners of the grid.
- Around the central pinwheel, on each of the four diagonals, draw a pair of slanted parallelogram bars as plain outlines.
- Along the four sides of the diamond, between the corner pinwheels, draw eight five-petal flowers with small ring centres — two on each side.
- Fill the gaps between the flowers with pointed leaves, each with a centre vein, and set a small diya with a flame in the centre column below the middle pinwheel with a small leaf sprig above it.
