Step by step: how to draw Unique Doorstep Kolams 8×8
- Mark the 8-to-8 dot grid — eight rows of eight dots.
- Run diagonal lines in both directions across the grid to build a criss-cross lattice, crossing in an X at the centre.
- At each of the four corners bend the lines into two large rounded loops so the corner closes in a broad heart-shaped lobe.
- Inside each corner lobe turn the lattice lines back in smaller U-shaped loops along its edge.
- Above, below, left and right of the centre draw a small closed cell with a pointed leaf tip at each end, like a tiny bud — four in all.
