Step by step: how to draw Very Simple Kolam Designs With 11×3
- Mark the 11-to-3 dot grid.
- Draw four eight-spoke asterisks — above, below, left and right of the centre.
- Join the spoke ends of each asterisk to turn it into an eight-point star of diamond petals.
- Link the four stars with straight lines into a large diamond around the centre, closing a small square between each pair of stars.
- Draw a spiral curl in the notch at the outer tip of each star.
- In the centre draw a small diamond and fill it with a criss-cross lattice of lines.
- On the four diagonals beside the small squares add a small pointed oval with an upswept curved tail.
