Step by step: how to draw Amazing Newyear Kolam 15 to 8
- Mark the 15-to-8 dot grid — a 15-dot middle row tapering by one dot per row to 8 at the top and bottom.
- In the centre draw a six-pointed star from interlaced ribbon bands wrapped around a small hexagon, with a dot in the middle.
- From the star run six chains of oval beads outward — one straight out to each side and four along the diagonals.
- In each of the six spaces between the chains draw a spray of three bell-shaped flowers on a branching stem — eighteen bells in all.
- Give each bell a pair of pointed leaves at its base and a line ending in a dot inside it.
- Colour the star bands purple, magenta and crimson, the hexagon blue and the centre dot yellow.
- Fill the bells purple, magenta and crimson, the leaves green and the beads blue, then re-trace the outlines in white.
